Who is actually coming
Gas is the one where it matters, and not every plumber holds it. This sits here rather than in the footer because it is what a nervous person is hunting for.
Certifying plumbers
Registered with the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board, with a current practising licence. The licence number goes on every invoice.
Certifying gasfitters
Qualified to work on and certify gas — hobs, califonts, fires and bottle installations. You get the gas safety certificate as standard, not on request.
Insured
Public liability cover in place. If you want to see the certificate before we start, ask and we will send it.
Named, not dispatched
You are told who is coming and roughly when. If that changes you get a call about it rather than a silent two-hour wait.
Three things worth doing
None of this is a repair. It is the difference between us starting when we arrive and us spending the first twenty minutes moving things.
Turn the toby off
Usually at the front boundary, under a small lid. Turning it clockwise stops the water to the whole house and stops the damage getting worse while we drive.
Clear what is under the sink
Whatever is in the cupboard is going to come out anyway, and the floor is likely wet.
Shut the dog inside
Said with affection. Side access and a gate we can open is most of it.

Cylinder repairs and replacements, gas and electric, plus continuous-flow installs.
Leaks & bursts
Located and repaired, including under-slab, with as little cutting as the job allows.

Hobs, califonts, fires and bottle installations, certified on completion.
Bathrooms & kitchens
Full plumbing for renovations, working alongside your builder and tiler.
Maintenance
Taps, toilets, valves, and the slow drip that has been annoying you for a year.
